This one-of-a-kind necklace is handcrafted from beautiful recycled sari silk ribbon in a rich sea-green shade.
I’ve loosely plaited three strands of silk together and added a large, naturally patterned Abalone shell pendant. The pendant hangs from an ornate silver-coloured bail.
The necklace fastens at the back with a silver-coloured lobster clasp.

Sari silk ribbon is a unique handmade yarn created from recycled fabric left over from sari production in India. Its deliberately frayed finish is part of its natural character, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. The ribbon I use is handmade and hand-dyed by women’s cooperatives and craftspeople in rural communities in northern India.
